💂‍♂️ A London experience:Installation Dinner - Ironmongers HallThis week I had the privilege of being admitted to the Court of Assistants for The Worshipful Company of Hackney Carriage Drivers. I was initially admitted into the company in 2019 following the taxi guiding course. Before progressing to Liveryman. The installation dinner also is the annual dinner where a new master of the company is installed. The WCHCD is welcoming for new members, be they taxi driver, associated taxi business or anyone with enthusiasm for the trade. One of my favourite features of this livery hall was a fantastic painting of the late Queen Elizabeth II passing through the temple bar in the city via her gold state coach, and obtaining entrance to the City of London from the Lord Mayor. I'm unable to find the artist but found a small preview of it online.

If you wish to see what a City of London Livery Dinner looks like, I'd highly recommend checking out Stephen Fry's Key to the City on YouTube.📖 A book I'm reading:Ego is the Enemy: The Fight to Master Our Greatest Opponent - Ryan HolidayI’ve been fearful of reading this.In growing a social brand, I’ve always believed that some kind of ego is required. Ego is an edge or a flavour. You need to be somewhat polarising to attract some attention which is effectively what a social persona or brand is.  This book shatters that perception. It provides plenty of examples from military generals and rockstars who put the ego aside in order to become the very best at what they do.🎙️  A London podcast I'm bingeing:Subterraneans - James ThompsonAlso featured on London in BitsThe best way I can describe this is London fan fiction, but specifically anything underground and with a horror twist. If you get a kick out of imaginary worlds in London, like the idea of seeing someone walk into private door on the underground and that they’ve disappeared elsewhere, then this is for you. I usually really struggle with fiction, but this pulled me in with actual historical facts relating to all over London, and then blown that open with compelling and gripping storytelling. My favourite has to be episode 4 of series 1. Billionaires Row, specifically The Bishops Avenue.📹  New On YouTube this week:
