Sunday Summary from Tom the Taxi Driver
Hey , Welcome back to my Sunday Summary, a collection of insights and my behind the scenes from the past week.
๐น A new upload schedule:I've uploaded 5 videos sharing a bit of driving and shift work in the cab this year.I know that for many, this is the core content of why you watch my channel and I love making them. They are however incredibly time intensive to edit! I have since drafted in some assistance to get me through the gruelling edit sessions, and with a hope of finding some kind of schedule. Hopefully these kind of videos will be able to be released on a fortnightly basis. With topical content sandwiched between (like this week's video about Why I don't use a Sat Nav, below). ๐ง What I've been listening to (podcast with a quote): The Pain Of Becoming A Billionaire: John Caudwell (Steven Bartlett - Diary Of A CEO podcast)You'll know that I love this podcast and Steven has some incredible guests, he is also very probing to get the most from his contributors. One nugget that stood out from this conversation with John Caudwell (Founder of Phones 4 U). Was his 10% rule about everything."Never have more than 10% of your supplies from one supplier. Never have 10% of your sales with any one customer. And never have 10% of the responsibility with any one employee. Now we can't all achieve that, and I certainly couldn't achieve it and I've never been able to achieve it since. But it's a goal to have in mind." - John CaudwellI think it's applicable to everyone and at any level of income. Knowing that in today's "cancel culture", to have the majority of my income linked to just driving the taxi is an anxious prospect. ๐ A quote I'm mulling over:"Desire is a contract that you make with yourself to be unhappy until you get what you want." - Naval Ravikant๐ต On heavy rotation:Don't Go Away (Mustique Demo) - OasisI'm very late to the party for discovering Oasis' back catalogue. I think I prefer this version with Noel's vocals, it's one of those reflective tracks akin to Half the World AwayOn Tom the Taxi Driver YouTube This Week!
