📰 Tom's Sunday Summary - 17th March 2024

Hey , welcome back to

The Sunday Summary

, a collection of insights and my behind the scenes from the past week.

💂🏻‍♀️🇬🇧 I'm back to work!:So just a week back in the UK, I’ve already got myself addicted to work. You may have seen that I had a small hiccup with my taxi on Instagram, a wiring loom perished which meant that the water pump as well as other essential features couldn't be powered. A huge thanks to E1 Taxis as always for their incredibly speedy service, in the workshop Monday and back working on Tuesday!📺 Back to YouTube:Watching plenty of YouTube recently, and I seriously value some of my favourite YouTubers who push out some fantastic community content.  This is certainly a direction I want to move in, less focus on overall views/subs and just putting out the important messages, first uploads coming in April.  I better pull my finger out!

🍞 The breadbin:This broke my brain a little...Walking past a homeware store, selling all manner of goods, it’s a shop I’ve walked past for decades in my hometown, it certainly isn’t new or novel, nor are the range of products.I stopped as I saw a sales tag for £35. It was for a burgundy red bread bin. My mind was blown.  I’ve just come from lands where you can get stunning street meals for under £2. And here I am looking at a tin that has 1 sole purpose, for storing your ultra processed man made junk food. Presumably bought just to match the aesthetics of your kitchen. £35! For a tin that has one purpose and will probably be resented in a couple of years time!It made me realise that in the west, where our lives are often “too good”, when Maslow’s hierarchy of needs have been met, we seek to create trivial problems from nothing. It’s something I’ve really noticed and trying not to get myself wrapped up within. Whether it’s a feud with your local council, a road rage dispute, or a deluded expectation another member of society is projecting upon you.  Life is too short.  Don’t get wrapped up in the banal, pointless exercises.  Instead focus on what truly matters; connection, improving yourself so you can be an asset to your friends, family or community. Create more than you consume.

I'm currently reading:

I watched the wonderful 3 part Netflix documentary about the incredible life of Arnold.  This the the book that provides light on Arnold’s guiding principles.  It’s super easy to digest, and not densely packed.  Just even hard hitting principles that clearly served The Governor well!

🎧

This just has the sunset beach vibes that I'm longing for again (did I tell you I've been travelling recently?)

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Please feel free to reach out to me with your; comments, concerns or just general conversation.

I'd love to know what you're up to or what you might be working on!

Have a great week everyone!
