🗑️ A fun lifestyle experiment:30-Day Minimalism Game - The MinimalistsI first began following The Minimalists back when I was doing The Knowledge in 2015. A huge period of transformation in my life, and minimising my possessions seriously helped aid with my intensive study of London. It was just physical possessions, but extended to hobbies and relationships. Does this thing add value to my life? Does this relationship still serve me in the same way. Fast forward 7 years and almost 5 years of being a cabbie. I’ve naturally had a bit of lifestyle creep.  From moving from my parents to shared accommodation to living out with my girlfriend. Naturally accumulating “stuff” on the way. I have felt this background noise chattering away, almost as though it’s been draining me subconsciously.  Also timing with a house move in a few months, it’s the perfect time to minimise. So in a nutshell, the 30 day minimalism game is a challenge of increasing difficulty to remove around 500 possessions from your home (double that if your partner is on board) over the course of a month.Day 1, remove 1 item. Day 2, remove 2 items. Day 3, 3 items. And so on.Today I’m on day 8 and it’s really starting to get difficult.  Each item I have to really evaluate if it has served its purpose, and if I am ready to let go of it. If you haven’t done some form of decluttering or minimalism, I’d highly recommend checking out their; podcast, resources or even Netflix documentary.  It really brings what’s important about life to the forefront.🚕 A taxi related purchase:Cabbiez Badge HolderThese things are pimp. I saw a driver with one and then had to have a good hunt on Twitter to find the page to buy. Not only are they super cool looking, they also serve great functionality, in that the badge is secured with a back that’s held on with grub screws. Meaning that your hard earned badge can’t just “slip” out the holder. I bought a black one, and I don’t get any commissions on this, it’s just a great product made by a fellow cabbie (Tony) and deserves a mention!  Even the presentation of the box it arrives in is just top quality! Maybe mention my name and he might buy me a coffee 😉📺  An interesting video I'm watching:Jordan Peterson Comments on The Queen's PassingFollowing from the sad news of the passing of Elizabeth II, I really enjoyed this video where Jordan Peterson explains the importance of the monarchy, and what it could mean for the future of the UK.📹  On YouTube this week:Nothing this week I'm afraid.Preparing for the Children’s Magical Taxi Tour (plus new tyres and brake pads) has meant I haven’t had a lot of time to edit. I will hopefully be capturing the taxis at Disney and I will be releasing a series of videos documenting my week working in the taxi.  It's all to come!
