🗞Tom's Sunday Summary - 19th February 2023

Hey , welcome back to
The Sunday Summary
, a collection of insights and my behind the scenes from the past week.
🎙 I've launched a taxi podcast (sort of):On Point Podcast - Tom the Taxi DriverBeginning of this year, I invested in some podcast gear, (2x Rode PodMics and a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd gen USB audio interface if you are interested.) My idea is that, there’s so many amazing individuals with the London taxi trade. I wanted to create a podcast that could foster more conversations in the taxi trade. Making drivers feel united, or able to talk with more drivers. So I started with Paul Byron of HP Taxi. The recording was sat on my desktop for weeks, but it was only from his push that I got it released. I’m looking to line up more conversations, record around 10 episodes and review feedback to see wether it’s something worth pursuing.🍺 The perfect gift for London pub lovers:City Stack - £100 worth of food and drink for £20It’s a great initiative set out following the recovery of pubs from the 2020 pandemic. Effectively you pay £20 for a stack of 10 beer mats, that enable you to get £10 off your bill in participating pubs. The pubs are all small and independent London establishments. The discount applies to food and drink. The packaging and format of the beer mats is brilliant and would make a great gift! As mine has!👕 A garment I've wanted for some time:The Hoodie - ASKET | Zero Compromise GarmentsI’m not a fan of fast fashion/false economy. Generally… buy once, buy right. Hoodies I’ve had in the past have either; faded, bobbled, drawstrings fray, etc etc. A chance encounter whilst walking the streets of Stockholm; a beautiful retail store called ASKET. Scandinavian, minimal, sustainable, transparent. Okay…. Please take my money!I’m wearing the hoody in my video “How much COULD a London cabbie earn?” In fact, I feel like it’s all I’ve worn since being back in the UK. I think I’ll gradually replace my wardrobe with this brand, and fingers crossed, have their stuff last a lifetime!📖 What I'm reading:Everyone Is Entitled To My Opinion: A Journey Around A Cabbies Capital - David Styles (London Cabbie)Finally got around to start reading this (apologies David, I’ve had a huge stack of reading to plough through!) Part Knowledge memoir, part history book and facts of London, this is a wonderfully written gem, with lots of nuanced history to London I was totally unaware of. It also features plenty of references to other books written by cabbies (which I will certainly follow-up!) It’s available on Amazon, and is featured as part of Kindle Unlimited (effectively an unlimited subscription so you can get this book for FREE as part of a monthly subscription!).📺 This week on YouTube:

Can a London Cabbie ACE The Knowledge of Luxembourg City?
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Please feel free to reach out to me with your; comments, concerns or just general conversation.
I'd love to know what you're up to or what you might be working on!
📝😁
Have a great week everyone!
Tom
