🗞 Tom's Sunday Summary - 22nd May 2023
Hey , welcome back to
The Sunday Summary
, a collection of insights and my behind the scenes from the past week.
📖 A London book I'm loving:London: A guide for curious wanderers - Jack Chesher I’ve been diving into multiple books on London, exploring how they are formatted, how they present the information on London, etc. I collaborated with Jack on the channel semi recently in Taxi Driver vs. Tour Guide. I’m loving the illustrations featured in this book. Particularly I can open as a designated page and think “oh I recognise that!” or “wow, that looks interesting, let’s read more!” It’s inspiring stuff and Jack has experienced great success, reaching The Sunday Times bestseller list! So if you haven’t grabbed a copy yet, please do so! It really helps him and the whole genre of London out 😊🎧 An audiobook I'm listening to:$100m Offers: How to Make Offers So Good People Say Stupid Saying No - Alex HormoziThe title of this book threw me off for a bit, I assumed it was to do with acquisitions or buyouts. But it's more about presenting your offer or proposition in a way that provides tremendous value for the customer, as well yourself in terms of profit.I've been fleshing out ideas for courses, virtual tours, London masterminds etc. And whilst I haven't anything concrete yet, this book is already giving me lots to think about in terms of providing a compelling value proposition. The only thing I will say, is that Hormozi’s voice is a bit dry and without inflection. I’ve had to listen to this at a much slower speed than most audiobooks to capture all the relevant information. However as it’s half the length of most audiobooks, nothing's really lost!🏋🏼♂️ A gadget I'm loving:HYBRID Resistance Bands Inc. HandlesThese feature in my recent shift upload. I’ve been doing the MAPS Anabolic workout programme (from MindPump which is a fantastic podcast by the way). It’s effectively a programme to illicit the most amount of muscle growth from a relatively simple programme. On rest days, you do what's called "trigger sessions". These amplify the muscle building signal, thereby getting the most bang for your buck. These are compact to carry in my cab, or bag and ensure I can get a quick pump without having to go to a gym.💿 On (very) Heavy RotationBeyond - Corey TaylorWow, instant classic. It reminds me of post 2000 metal that punctuated my childhood and teens. But with the raw Corey Taylor vocals. It’s good times, its energetic, it’s inspiring, it’s moving. I honestly listened to this non-stop whilst editing my recent shift video below.
