🗞 Tom's Sunday Summary - 23rd July 2023
Hey , welcome back to
The Sunday Summary
, a collection of insights and my behind the scenes from the past week.
💂🏻♀️ A London experience:Buckingham Palace State RoomsLike the London geek that I am, I managed to bag tickets for the opening weekend of the Buckingham Palace State Rooms.I previously visited the gardens, but this is my first time inside of the palace itself. None of my own photos unfortunately as they weren't allowed inside.I honestly feel like I need to go back and experience it again (rather fortunately if you stamp your admission ticket, you get free returns!). Largely because there was so much to take in, and also the audio guide intentionally left out a lot of information. With Buckingham Palace it is such a large number of visitors, going into minute details like a smaller curated museum would mean it would be nearly impossible to keep everyone flowing. My highlight was finally being able to find a mouse (with the help of my girlfriend) in a Terence Cuneo painting.🫙💊 An efficiency prompted purchase:20ml Aluminium Tins with Screw Lid (5 Pack)My morning supplement intake is 8 pills. Unscrewing and re-screwing 8 bottles everyday grew tiresome. It was also difficult to know if I took the pills. So this rather pro looking solution has got me sorted.📖 A book I'm loving:The Oxygen Advantage: The simple, scientifically proven breathing technique that will revolutionise your health and fitnessI've just started this one, but I'm hooked already. Having dabbled with the Wim How method and noticeable benefits that provides, I'm curious to learn more on the topic! First major insight is that whilst CO2 is seen as a waste product and oxygen is favoured, our body needs a level of CO2 to regulate oxygen. Thereby just chasing oxygen isn't the imperative.🚕 A huge taxi feature on YouTube:I Paid a Taxi $10,000 to See How Far it Takes Me! - Yes TheoryCockney Reg, a driver who I'd never come across in the London taxi trade before, but who I'm sure will become a celebrity in his own right (and well deserved!).Yes Theory reached out to me a few months back telling me of their plans to do a taxi journey of $10,000 on the meter. It soon became clear that I certainly wasn't their fit for contributor but I was more than happy to assist in their taxi logistics. As I've experienced with previous projects, anything deviating from the norm in taxi insurance is a massive undertaking (hence why Tom Scott drove a decommissioned taxi in this video). I'm very glad they managed to find a compromise as it was a few hectic calls and Twitter asks to try and get something sorted! This video is a tear jerker, and the comments from people who know cockney Reg are testament to what a well deserving individual he is!
