π° Tom's Sunday Summary - 24th March 2024

Hey , welcome back to
The Sunday Summary
, a collection of insights and my behind the scenes from the past week.
ππ»ββοΈπ¬π§ Taxi and trade update:This week Iβve seen more knowledge boys out and about than ever before. Itβs a very good sign for the trade as weβve been suffering with lots of drivers leaving the trade and less new entrants, meaning overall taxi numbers going down. Therefore we need more to come in, just to keep the numbers static.
On the other hand, historically people take up The Knowledge during times of economic uncertainty or recession, which generally means low work levels on the horizon. Itβs currently very quiet for March, and with Easter holidays approaching (generally another quiet period), it could be a few longer shifts required in the cab!
πΊ Back to YouTube:I've already captured and filmed studio content for my first shift videos since being back! Expect my first upload to go live Friday 5th April!I've had some ideas for more cinematic content to be added to my videos, so do check those out! Here's a photo of my breakfast at the Heathrow feeder park canteen (another shift video I will be sharing later in April/May too!)
ππ»βοΈ A London experience:Markus Coffee - Connaught StreetA gem of a coffee shop in the Tyburnia area.Stocking 34 varieties of coffee beans from 13 different countries, Jimmy Choo OBE has noted that this is his favourite coffee shop in London. An old institution and if I'm completely honest, decent coffee is something I have missed since my travels in SE Asia (only the Vietnamese mad the cut here). Highly recommend, a real slice of local London.

What I'm watching:
This is beautiful. Not so much the pub part, but just going for a walk in nature with good company. This is the kind of pleasure that I love most in life. Just walking one foot in front of the other, and having a rambling conversation about anything and everything. This is a beautiful series and Bill Bailey just makes it. I highly recommend Bailey's "
" book for similar activities in this vein.
π§
On heavy rotation:Playstation1 Nostalgia ambient atmospheric jungle drum and bass
A fan made playlist of beats that would be suited perfectly for PS1 games. Accompanied with some stunning visuals (that admittedly look a lot more PS2 if you ask me). Just the perfect brain beats.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Please feel free to reach out to me with your; comments, concerns or just general conversation.
I'd love to know what you're up to or what you might be working on!

Have a great week everyone!
