Sunday Summary from Tom the Taxi Driver

Hey , welcome back to my Sunday Summary, a collection of insights and my behind the scenes from the past week.

☕ A new (accidental) hobby:Espresso - Sage Barista ExpressI'm a big lover of coffee, but would never put myself in the connoisseur bracket. I'm very slowly becoming a coffee snob.For my 30th birthday, my family and I chipped in for a Sage Barista Express, its reviewed as one of the best value all in one espresso machines (grinder, espresso, and milk steamer).To paraphrase Coffee-YouTube legend, James Hoffman, if you think getting an espresso machine means making cappuccinos for you and your partner in bed on a Saturday morning, think again.  You have just purchased yourself a new hobby.I'll just list a few things that I've been playing with in the past fortnight for optimum coffee:

• Beans

• Spreadsheets

• Weighing scales

• Dosing funnels

• Tamping level and pressure

It's never ending, and even after exhuming several bags of beans, I'm yet to pull a good tasting espresso shot! 🤦🏻‍♂️

📱 A new app:Things 3 - Your to-do list for Mac & iOSI'm a sucker for a good list.Shopping lists, to-do lists, some day lists, travel lists, video idea lists. My life can be quantified as lists.I had been using Clear for the best part of 7 years, a great and super speedy app.  But their iCloud sync is buggy, and it lacks recurring functionality (i.e., I wanted to be able to have a set list or task appear every Friday, rather than write it manually each week).In steps Things, it's not as good for impromptu notes but the time saved in scheduling tasks and linking with calendars make up for it.🎵 Music on heavy rotation:Switchways - OtikFrom BBC Radio 1 post 10pm their dance show.  This is one of those tracks that transports you away, it's a nice long track for those typing/writing sessions.
