π Tom's Sunday Summary - 25th December 2022
Hey , I wish you a happy holidays! π π» And welcome back to
The Sunday Summary
, a collection of insights and my behind the scenes from the past week.
π§ An audiobook I'm loving:A Simpler Life - The School of LifeThis is a short and (obviously) simple book about the pursuit of simplicity. I try to live a minimal life but never considered the reasons as to why simple is appealing. Given the fact that pre early 19th century, status and the epitome of life was about maximalism (the king would have far more opulence and abundance than the peasant, the military general would have far more intricate uniform than the soldier). Itβs interesting to see that the height of success or desire has flipped to simpler living, or the wish to live life without clutter. Be that physical or mental.π« βοΈ A sweet treat I'm slightly addicted to:Ferrero Pocket Coffee EspressoI didn't know these things existed until last week. Away snowboarding in Alagna, one of the guys bought these in the shopping round. Wow they are good! They have that same kind of hit you get from a chocolate liqueur, but of course without the alcohol (280 days sober!). They are perfect to take up to the mountains, or a pick-me-up in the morning. π A book I'm re-reading:The Almanack of Naval Ravikant - Eric JorgensonWell not even re-reading. But just diving into. This book (if you can call it that) is still as incredible as the day I first heard of Naval. I think if there's any text or inspiration I can categorically point to and say "this had the most profound impact on my working life" it is this book. π§ What I'm listening to as I type this:The Infinite Sadness - SurveLiquid drum and bass... the rhythm of my brain.πΊ This week on YouTube:
At Work With a London Taxi Driver - Thursday (Part 4 of 5)
