Sunday Summary from Tom the Taxi Driver
Hey , welcome back to my Sunday Summary, a collection of insights and my behind the scenes from the past week.
⌛ A moment of reflection:University of Kent, CanterburyThis week I was fortunate enough to have a job that took me to the University of Kent in Canterbury, helping a new student unpack and start his new life at university. It was a flashback to myself 11 years ago at the University of Hertfordshire, brand new and fresh, eventually going on to find the friends I would now call my best friends, and also generate the opportunities that I still exhibit to this day.In that moment of casting my mind back to how I would have felt in September 2010, I reminded myself that it’s okay to slow down. Be a bit naive. Say yes to more opportunities, be more social (I’ve been blanket saying no for the past few years to enable me to focus on work and growth opportunities).Even new experiences like the gym, which I naively attended with friends, but arguably the willingness to attend regularly, without a set goal but just for the action of doing so, was far more impactful than any gym routine I’ve been able to sustain since graduating.I guess it’s the tortoise and the hare analogy. And sometimes, going a bit slower, being a bit more inquisitive and moving in some kind of direction, is better than not moving altogether.📺 YouTube:Still no new content on my channel. I really would like to update you, my viewers of what has been going on behind the scenes, but until I know more, there’s not a great deal I can share with you.
I want to get back to uploading content, but feel I have to update you all before I do this. There's plenty of projects I'm currently scripting and editing and I can't wait to share these with you.🎵 What I'm listening to:October - Tom VRI’ve intentionally removed Absolute Radio 90’s and Radio X from my taxi. It’s safe music to have on with passengers, but almost 4 years of listening to it has become monotonous. This track was a find last night on Radio 1, wow. Always a reminder to broaden your horizons and be able to let new experiences and media into your life.Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please feel free to reach out to me with your; comments, concerns or just general conversation. I'd love to know what you're up to or what you might be working on! 📝😁Have a great week everyone!Tom
