Hey , welcome back to
The Sunday Summary
, a collection of insights and my behind the scenes from the past week.
🛞 A big thanks to ENSO Tyres!ENSO Tyres - Sustainable Tyres for Electrical VehiclesThis week, my taxi has been fitted with the super sexy ENSO tyres.Taxi Drivers might have seen these featured in the LTDA mag a few months back. ENSO develop sustainable tyres for electric vehicles, they are aiming not just for performance improvements, but reducing the environmental impact of tyre manufacturing and wear. Whilst they are hoping to roll these tyres out to a wider EV market in mind, they have been developed specifically for the LEVC TXE, in fact the Founder & CEO even drives his own TXE! (the white livered taxi below). I’ve already found them to perform better performance in wet conditions than the stock Maxxis! Will update you all on when they will be available. They will be priced competitively! Also a big thanks to EV Service Hub for fitting these, their facility was so expansive and professional, I couldn't believe the scale of it!
*Not my taxi*⚡️ A new year habit:Optimising for energyYou might have guessed from my videos, that I don't like to "burn the candle at both ends". Sleep is a big priority for me, and I'm always keen to go home early for a good night of rest rather than chase a pound note. This year I've extended this lens further, for instance, when booking my most recent trip away, I picked flights and airport location to maximise energy levels (within budget of course).I try and picture how I would feel, if the travel was today or tomorrow. Basically not screwing my future self. So as an example, no exceedingly early flights. Or in this case, I opted for an extra day, with the sole intention of checking into the hotel the night before, so I'm fresh to experience the next day. I think we've all been guilty of "powering through" to try and get the most out of an experience, like having a super long day in a country and flying back late, but there's only so much you can optimise for, you can't do everything in the short time of travel, so instead of trying to cram everything, why not optimise for energy?Instead of getting a cheaper flight at a further airport, why not pay a bit extra for a closer airport?, enabling you to get home earlier and not write off the next day from tiredness? This then of course pays further dividends, as less drawn out days then means less caffeine required the next day, less cravings for quick and unhealthy carbs and so forth. It's an easily lifestyle hack in a world that tells you keep on grinding, more is better, etc.🎧 On heavy rotation:Regenerate - Fear FactoryThis summarises how I'm feeling about the new year, and trying to shake off a cold. "I've regenerated now, I've finally found new ground, breathing new life now, I will regenerate!"📺 A bit of a break from the YouTube schedule:It’s a new year but I’ve already put a lot of unrealistic expectations in place for the channel. Getting a video out every week managed to last just 2 weeks! A combination of holidays, a minor cold, and just getting through kipper season has held me back. Don’t worry, still plenty in the pipeline! And plenty of other goodies beside the YouTube channel I hope to launch this year! Thank you all for bearing with, and as always, I’d love to hear from you! Whether that’s video ideas, or a little bit about yourself and circumstances so I can tailor my content and offerings to you guys! Perhaps you want to help or collaborate in some way?
