The Sunday Summary
Hey , welcome to the Sunday Summary, a collection of insights and my behind the scenes from the past week.
๐๏ธ What Iโm struggling with:A consistent exercise practiceI'd be really interested to hear from anyone if they have some good tips for this.I'm not a stranger to exercise and definitely know my way around the weights room. That being said, wether it's my demanding YouTube/Taxi schedule, I always struggle to find the time for a workout (or allow myself the privilege). It's counterintuitive. I know how beneficial exercise is to mental energy and by allowing an hour each day to engage in some kind of physical activity will generate far greater dividends in terms of my creative output. After my post snooze slumber each morning, I always feel as though I should be at my desk straight into working, rather than giving my body the exercise or therapy it deserves.I also have a theory that in life I'm very mono-focused. I.e. I have one over arching goal that takes up most of my attention, and everything is just gets in the way of that. In pervious years, that one goal has been exercise, whereas now it is certainly YouTube and providing content/value to the world.I'd be really interested to hear from anyone who's had a similar block, and how you have overcome it ๐ ๐ A new purchase:YouTube StickersI had a few YouTube promo stickers made by the amazing PrintingwithJake on Etsy. Not only was I super impressed with the quality, but he even included a free sign which is pinned by my desk set-up. Thanks Jake. If you're after quality stickers, definitely hit him up, I will be going back to him again.๐ A new habit I'm trying to curate:Morning Pages - Using Day One JournalPartially related to the aforementioned exercise problem. I'm trying to calm the mind and expunge a lot of thoughts/anxieties using Morning Pages. It's an exercise first coined by Julia Cameron but came into my sphere via Tim Ferriss (author of The 4-Hour Work Week).Morning Pages are intended to be a handwritten (allow me for the time being, I'm currently typing them) brain dump. Thew idea being that you just write down all your anxieties and concerns for the day, thereby relieving the pressure of small, non-established thoughts from your brain. Sometimes the smallest of task or thought can hijack a lot of mental space, which should be reserved for some of the larger tasks of the day.I've found it very insightful so far, largely removing a lot of negative thoughts from my brain before I begin my day (you might be shocked to learn that I am a huge pessimist!).Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please feel free to reach out to me with your; comments, concerns or just general conversation. I'd love to know what you're up to or what you might be working on! ๐๐Have a great week everyone!Tom
