The Sunday Summary
Hey , welcome to the Sunday Summary, a collection of insights and my behind the scenes from the past week.
What Iām reading:"The Unfair Advantage" - Ash Ali & Hasan Kubba.I would recommend this book for anyone who wants to start up with business or a side hustle and has no idea what to do or where to start.Fundamentally it is about leveraging your "Unfair Advantages". We most commonly think of money as the biggest example, but it could be a unique skillset or upbringing that no-one else can replicate. It's an entertaining and inspiring read, with plenty of real life examples and frameworks to apply to your career, business or hustle. What I'm experimenting with:A new home shooting set-up. Improved audio quality and camera quality!Don't worry, I'm still making videos in the cab and with London. But I also want to create beautiful content at my desk set-up. Ideal for when I play London video games (I will be playing The Getaway so keep your eyes peeled for that one. I'm also looking into reaction videos/critiquing London in films and TV. If you can think of any notable media that includes London, please send across your suggestions and I'd love to feature them!A new experience:You might have seen on my Instagram that I went mudlarking for the first time in London!I had a bit of time between private jobs so walked down onto the Thames near Shakespeares Globe, and wow! I've never actually walked on the Thames, and what an experience it was!All I can say, is that you have to try it. It is such a contrast from the busy bustle of the South Bank (now that the world is opening up more) and so calm and relaxing. You are by the water front, you feel connected with London and it's past, and it's so quiet! I can't wait to go again.Insight from the cab:This week I had a professor of brain health in my cab. I'm fascinated with the brain, learning, growth hacks etc. And after a lengthy conversation I felt compelled to purchase his book (will share in a future Sunday Summary)In my teens I had a TBI (traumatic brain injury) and in recent years have learnt that I carry 2x APOE e4 genes (effectively have a very high likelihood late-onset Alzheimers disease). What I love about driving the cab, is that this one interaction could have a huge influence on my life and how my genetics may play out. It's one of the best things about the job, one interaction can change the course of your life, you never know who you will get and where it will take you (physically and metaphorically).
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please feel free to reach out to me with your; comments, concerns or just general conversation. I'd love to know what you're up to or what you might be working on! ššHave a great week everyone!Tom
