The Sunday Summary
🇭🇷Croatia, 🚖 City of London access and 🏃NYC racing
Hey everyone and welcome back to the Sunday summary. A one this week, I'm afraid. I've been away for 7 days in the beautiful Croatia 🇭🇷. My first time visiting and it was an absolute joy. Road trips, national parks, diving, and exploring Split.
As I'm only a team of 1 (plus ad hoc editor), plus I've had some production issues, it's going to take me a little while to get back up to speed with everything, as well as getting out in the cab and working.
🚖 Taxi news
From tomorrow, Bank Junction will reopen to cabbies. All hours of the day! Currently, the only direction will be from Poultry into Cornhill. As William Fork Street is still shut for maintenance. Eventually we'll be able to get the east to west direction as well!
If you are unaware. Just around 8-9 years ago all road users bar cyclists and buses were removed from the junction between the hours of 7-7 Monday to Friday. This decision was founded upon “safety concerns” despite the fact there was no data indicating any collisions with taxis in the junction (whilst buses had collided with cyclists). Compounded with further covid closures, it made the city very much a no go zone as it was very difficult to move passengers around. I hope other policy makers see sense in this, providing our “6 month trial” goes well!
This would not have been possible without the hard work of Alderman Tim Hailes and Deputy Common Councilman James Thomson from the City of London.
I'm planning to make a video on this, but I've been a bit behind in terms of scripting, so this might take a little bit longer!
📺 Videos I’m loving!
As I've been out of the capital for just over a week. I haven't much other news to report, but I've had plenty of screen time on the plane. Here's what I've been enjoying:
I was drawn to this channel from the relatively basic thumbnails, but a certain vibe or aesthetic about it that almost feels like it could have been filmed a decade ago. Some beautiful visuals in this one, it feels like a classic episode of Top Gear.
And on the racing front here's another:
James May Races the New York Subway - James May’s Planet Gin (YouTube)
I still want to put together a New York-themed challenge (I’ve never been but would love to drive it). Any ideas, please do let me know!
📺 Coming soon on the channel

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I'd love to know what you're up to or what you might be working on!
Have a great week!
