The Sunday Summary - 18th January 2026
🎣 Kipper update, 🏋🏻♀️ Pumping iron and 🚴🏻 My epic Boris bike ride
Hey everyone, welcome back to the Sunday summary!
🎣 Kipper update
Went out in the cab other week, and because of how slow it was, I vowed to just come back to work when the trade picked back up again. All the ranks were banged out, people reporting that Kings Cross would take about 45-60 minutes to get through etc.
And yea, it can be slow this time of year.
But, I remembered when I rented a taxi. I didn’t have the privilege to just call it a day.
This week, I went back out, but just got my head down. Just focussed on doing long drives, going to random locations, making my drives more of an adventure rather than trying to hunt for work, and low and behold… I did my hours, I came home with enough money.
Taxi driving, like most things in life, is all down to mindset.
📺 What I’m watching
Design Experts Guide to Lighting Your Interior | Tricks of the Trade - House & Garden [YouTube]
Following on from my interior design obsession, lighting!
Awesome how easily light can change your environment. In particular love their before and after to show how much the space changes
📖 What I’m reading
The New Encyclopaedia of Modern Bodybuilding: The Bible of Bodybuilding - Arnold Schwarzenegger
Been on my reading list for way too long! I was put off by the fact that it’s a huge hardback (I hate storing books), so started it on Kindle (free with Kindleunlimited!)
I’ve previously been a gym lover, but always being “busy” with YouTube is a great excuse to put it off. This year I have a new motivation, which if it works, I will reveal the secret!
📺 Work cadence and what’s coming from me
YouTube
2026 I have a mantra not to be controlled by YouTube.
Looking back on my uploads last year there were so many projects that I completely forgot I even made. Why?
Because the common YouTube advice is to upload once a week.
I’ve been on this kind of cadence (admittedly not all the time) for far too long, so much so that projects are just kinda a rinse and repeat.
I want to make more epic content. Give a compelling reason for people to tune in.
So…
More food videos incoming.
Longer shift videos - I’m leaning into the relaxing nature of it (comments about Map Tom has taught me not to rush!)
Worldwide travel - In March I’m off to a very large city with an equally recognisable taxi service.
In short… shift videos will still happen once a month or sooner (one coming on 24th January and 1 in Feb). But other projects will be as and when, stuff I want to get really excited and energised about, rather than just “here’s another video”.
Short form
Instagram and TikTok is where culture happens.
It’s where people search for recommendations, it’s where they catch up on the news and the world.
So I’m leaning into it!
It also allows me try ideas, and gather good information/research for long form content.
If you’re not following; I post them on Instagram, Youtube and TikTok
