The Sunday Summary

📖 Black Cab Lore, 🗺️ Map pen and ✍🏻 guest map drawer!

Hey everyone! Welcome back to the Sunday summary! A busy week as ever for me, here’s what I’ve been up to!

📖 What I’m re-reading

Abstracts of Black Cab Lore: A History of The London Cab Driver - Sean Farrell
It’s really easy to spout the same historical taxi facts about the great exhibiton and cabmens shelters. This book is an absolute treasure trove into the real history of the London taxi trade. From various taxi crashes in history, to the origins of badges and how some yellow badge drivers did not like the idea of having to wear a yellow badge pin. Reading this, it’s pretty spectacular to believe we still have a taxi trade!

✍🏻 New map pens

Volcanics Black Whiteboard Pens
This is beyond bus mans holiday! I was having some trouble in my shift videos with my previous dry wipe pens being too thin. I had to draw the line multiple times, which doesn’t have the same flare as a single stroke. This pens have a chisel tip which allows me to vary it. I now feel like Bob Ross at my map.
MAP LINES MATTER!

📺 What I’m watching

It’s time to talk about my health. - Chris Williamson [YouTube]
Unreal to believe that Chris Williamson is so productive whilst having all of this going on in the background. And astonishingly this very rarely comes up in his podcasts. I listen to him religiously, so to know the full extent of what is going on behind the scenes is incredibly inspiring!

🙋🏼 I’m hiring

YouTube video editor
You may have noticed that the camera production has taken a huge upgrade, well I want to level up my editing! Is that you or do you know someone who’s a fantastic YouTube editor? Just reply to this email!

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I'd love to know what you're up to or what you might be working on!

Have a great week!

Tom

p.s. I’m thinking about getting a guest “map drawer” for each shift video. A random star or celebrity who can draw the line on the map for me… do you know anyone who’d love to do this?
