The Sunday Summary
๐ My SERU test,๐๏ธ Cab Chat is returning and ๐ Octopus piano
Hey everyone! Welcome back to the Sunday summary!
This weekโs newsletter is sponsored by OOONO
Iโve been using their Co-Driver NO2 in my cab for the past couple of months. I love how it handles mobile speed cameras. The device itself is audible, and my phone is connected to my car audio, so the alerts are noticeable - I never miss one, which takes a lot of the mental strain of constantly being alert driving in London (you can customise the notifications to your liking).
OOONO also alerts you of red-light cameras, fixed cameras, and any hazards on the road, helping you stay aware of everything around you without having to look down at your phone or satnav.
This device isn't just about avoiding speeding - it will help avoid other offences too, such as using your mobile phone whilst driving. One mobile phone offence can land you 6 points on your licence (instant ban if you are a taxi driver). So by removing the temptation to use your phone, the NO2 keeps you more conscious and alert driver every shift.
And importantly, itโs a one-time purchase - no subscription fees.!
OOONO offers two models:
CO-DRIVER NO1 โ ยฃ44.99 (solid entry-level option)
CO-DRIVER NO2 โ ยฃ69.99 (the one I personally recommend for cab drivers and anyone driving regularly, it has real time updates from millions of users!)
Available in Halfords and on Amazon, it makes an ideal Christmas gift โ either for yourself or the driver in your life.

My SERU test
I elected to have my SERU taxi test (safety, equality, and regulatory understanding), early. If you are unaware, this is a mandatory (one-off) test that all licensed drivers have to complete before their next renewal. Most are doing this at the time of renewal. I wanted to do this early so I could share my experience, and ensure cab drivers arenโt fearing it.
I got 100% and honestly believe that most cab drivers even without revising, will be able to easily achieve the pass mark of 60%. I will release a few tweets sharing my experience further, but if any of you have this test coming up, feel free to drop me an email if you have any concerns.
๐๐๏ธ Cab chat show is coming back!
The Cab Chat Show
The longest running podcast in the London taxi trade (possibly any taxi trade) will be coming back. Iโm pleased to announce I will be co-hosting with the Cab Chat legend that is Jamie Owens (Super Cabby). Weโve already recorded a few episodes for 2026, so will share these as they are released.
It will be fortnightly, just to ensure we are able to keep a good cadence. If you want to submit any topics or questions to the show, feel free to email me or contact the show at Cabchatshow.uk
๐๏ธ Podcast episode that had me hooked
Whatโs the best phone to do crimes on? - Search Engine [Podcast]
What a tale this was. The evolution of how encrypted phones become popular amongst criminal networks, followed by the largest sting operation across the globe. Entertaining!

What Happened to the People on Famous Album Covers - astromancy archives
Small channel, huge banger of a video. Deftones, Korn, Blink 182. This is a fun watch.
๐บ A YT short Iโm loving
I taught an octopus piano (it took 6 months)
Iโm not sure if this was a full video that has been repurposed into a short. But irregardless, itโs the most bang for buck Iโve seen in a short in a long time,
