🧠🍅📝 A productivity hack

This week was heavy on editing and computer work.
I find staring at a screen solo for hours, absolutuely mind-numbing. Accountability is too low and procrastination too easy.

But I’ve been using a simple trick that helps me stay on track — especially for boring or creative work:

🔧 The Distraction List + Pomodoro Timer

  1. Grab a notebook & pen
    (Paper works too — keep it within arm’s reach.)

  2. Start a Pomodoro timer

  • 25 minutes work ⏱️

  • 5 minutes break ☕

  • I use Pomofocus.io — it logs your total time too.

  • While working:

    • Every time a distracting thought pops up (e.g. “Check eBay for that guitar,” “Put the washing on”):
      ➤ Write it on your distraction list
      ➤ Then, get right back to the task

  • If it’s task-related but you can’t do it yet (e.g. “Download photos later”):
    ➤ Log it under a separate “Later for This Task” header.

  • When the 25 mins are up and you're on your 5-minute break:

    • Glance at your list.

    • Decide if any of those distractions are still worth your time.

    • You’ll be surprised how many weren’t.

🛬🎲 A board game I’m loving

This is addictive! You and your co-pilot work together to land a plane at various airports around the world. I love it because there’s a lot of team work, and unlike other co-op games I’ve played, it’s quite clear how your actions progress the game (i.e. there’s no hidden traps that can spring up and scupper your hard work!). There’s lots of scenarios already in the game, and an expansion pack if you’re that good at it! Plus there’s a way of playing it solo which is just as addictive.
