The Sunday Summary

This week’s email comes from Aarhus, Denmark 🇩🇰.
My second time here, non taxi related but still working away. Providing live coverage for the UEC Bike Trials Championship (can all be viewed on The Shin Dig YouTube channel if you’re interested), my voice on the commentary as well as doing the camera work. Aside from that, it’s been a busy week for me, so a short Sunday Summary this week!

🧪🚕 SERU Taxi Testing

I’ve had some drivers concerned about the upcoming SERU test.  In short, it’s a safeguarding test that is nationwide for taxi drivers (and PH drivers have had to do this for some time).  You only have to do the test when your badge comes up for renewal (although, you can opt for the test early if you wish, which is what I’m trying to do so I can share my experience).

In short, there’s nothing to panic about and I’m adamant with a bit of common sense, most cabbies will pass this first time, no problems.  I want to cover as much of the process as possible as I’m fearful some cabbies will see this as another friction point to renewing their badge, would could force some drivers to retire early or leave the game.  Which we clearly don’t want!

The Magical Taxi Tour

My 4th year supporting charity. We leave Canary Wharf on Friday morning (approximately sunrise if you wish to come and see the 120 vehicle convoy leaving London), before heading along the A2 down to Dover (come and see us from the bridges).
