📺 A documentary I enjoyed

The man with the 7 second memory
As the title says, “Clive Wearing has no idea where he lives, what year it is, or even how old he is. He has a memory span of only 30 seconds, tell him something now, he’ll forget it almost immediately”.
It really puts life into perspective, something we take for granted everyday. Clive has a diary which we writes in everyday, but it’s absolutely chilling to think that this is his way or trying to exist longer than his memory allows.

📺 A YouTube channel I’m loving

Jacob Rees-Mogg
This is new YouTube. Audiences are growing tired of excessive cuts and retention editing.
Jacob Rees-Mogg sits down and delivers various topics in front of camera. It’s a masterclass in public speaking, or rather speaking to camera.
I briefly saw him in whilst I was stuck in traffic on Thursday, (he wasn’t driving), I wanted to share how much I love his channel but it alas he was a bit too far away.

💊 A supplement I’m loving

L-Theanine
You’ll know I’m a coffee man. A couple of cups in the morning for all of my cognitive tasks such as editing or writing this weekly email.
But, as great as coffee can be for getting the juices flowing, it can be a bit too uncalibrated. I.e. I find that caffeine is great at improving brain cadence in generating thoughts and ideas, but they can bounce all over the place as though I’m not on guard rails.
L-Theanine is an amino acid found in green tea, and a few studies cite that this generates a dampening effect on the caffeine. Almost like I’m a little bit more calibrated and can “tunnel” my focus rather than flitting about.
Even if it’s a placebo, I’ve found it to be a great ritual. 1 cup of coffee, with 1 200mg of L-Theanine.
