The Sunday Summary
Hello , welcome to the Sunday Summary, a collection of my insight and behind the scenes from the past week.
What Iām working on:Thursday and Friday I filmed both shifts working in the cab. Documenting my full day at work. Itās been a while since Iāve put one of these together (check out my previous one here). Very excited to see how my style on camera has improved as well as my speed/efficiency of editing, it will be coming out soon.
What Iām reading:"The Courage To Be Disliked" by Ichiro Kishimi & Fumitake Koga. I've heard various recommendations of this, it's a presentation of Alfred Adler's psychology on various human behaviours which is certainly getting my mind going. One example is rather than the Freudian example of childhood trauma causing certain behaviours later in life, this book shares Adler's take which explores the option that you act out in a certain way to live up to the childhood trauma, or using it as a narrative to justify your actions. It's short and digestible almost like Meditations, so I'm enjoying reading this in small chunks on the ranks in the cab.My discovery:Evernote document scanningIām quite vigilant on keeping documents but sometimes when you need to access something when not at home, it can make a simple application turn into a nightmare.By using Evernote, I plan to scan every document, but the best part? It converts it into a searchable document! Just search for a phrase or name thatās featured, and boom youāve found your document! So glad I found this and definitely worth the price of premium.
A bit of nostalgia:Last Sunday I was feeling a bit melancholic, probably exacerbated by the bad weather and not getting out on the bike. I then ended up on YouTube down a rabbit hole of nostalgia. What did I eventually stop on? Classic PlayStation 1 demo discs and their music. If you were a child of the 90's and had a Playstation this will bring back plenty of memories for you!Work on the street:Now that lockdown has eased a bit more, there is definitely more confidence with people on the streets. Work has noticeably picked up (as has traffic). Itās no where near back to normal, but feels like a step in the right direction šš»
